Fallout: New Vegas first impressions
When I started my game I was eased into the mood of the game by a pretty cool video in which a veteran NCR ranger is guarding the New Vegas strip (something I haven’t seen in the game yet and I’m at the last storyline mission) but that’s beside the point. Before I get into it I have to say that, while I think it deserves game of the year, its less of a whole new game compared to Fallout 3 and more of a GIANT add-on. I’m very confident in saying that if you didn’t like Fallout 3, you will not like this game at all. So back to my story. At the end of the video I’m staring down the barrel of 9mm pistol wielded by a checkered coat wearing guy accompanied by some thugs when he pulls the trigger. I wake up to some old guy who says he nursed me back to health by him after I was pulled out of the grave by a robot named Victor. I walk around the town and find the mission that’s basically the tutorial and continue the 4 or 5 missions in the town. Every night I was tempted by the bright lights shining out of New Vegas which seemed just down the road but everyone in the town told me that the road was covered in monsters but I ignored them and went anyways. I soon learned that they weren’t lying when I died almost immediately. I knew then that I would have to wait a little while to experience the New Vegas strip, which is great by the way.
